Thankful!

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”  Psalm 100:4

Being thankful is so much more than a few days in November devoted mostly to turkey dinner and football.  I recently made a list of the MANY things I’ve been thankful for throughout my life. Each instance of God’s blessing was vividly remembered as being OUT-of-the-ordinary — significant at the time as well as years later as I recall them.

As you listen to the wonderful songs in this collection, may you be drawn to remember the things you are thankful for now as well as throughout your life.  God is good — all the time!  Let the song “Goodness of God” keep that ever-present in your mind. May the strains of familiar Thanksgiving hymns — “Now Thank We All Our God”, “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come” and “This Is My Father’s World” bring memories not only of holidays past, but also of God’s blessings over the years. Join with the Choir and sing along on “My Tribute”, “Jesus, Thank You”, “Give Thanks” and “Gratitude” to express your thanks to God. You’ll also find new favorites on this album such as “All the Praise” and “O Give Thanks”. And if you’re wondering where “Battle of Jericho” fits in to the “Thankful” theme . . . just put yourself in Joshua’s shoes:  if God had given you a battle plan as strange as what he gave Joshua, wouldn’t you be thankful when it all turned out to be successful?  I think we’d all be lifting shouts of praise and thanksgiving when those walls came tumbling down!
