November 3 “God Bless America”
In just a matter of days, we, as Americans, have the privilege to express our convictions thru National elections. From our country’s inception, we have been blessed to do this in a peaceful way. Only recently have groups emerged that would threaten this process as we’ve known it. Now, more than ever, we need to seek God on behalf of our country and its leaders. So, join us this week as we pray this heartfelt prayer: God Bless America. November 10 “Staying Power!”
Over my lifetime, I’ve observed that sticking with something or hanging-in-there for the long haul seems to be an increasingly UNDER-rated quality in people. At the first sign of trouble, we tend to fly the coop. We get bored and before long, we’re out of there. Few people seem to have “Staying Power” anymore. This week, we want to look at what God expects of us. November 17 “EYES EVERYWHERE!”
We’ve all heard that moms and teachers seem to have eyes in the back of their head! As kids, we couldn’t get away with anything when they were around! But even more amazing to me are the eyes of God, which Scripture says are EVERYWHERE – always watching! And they’re watching for our GOOD – to protect and to guide. November 24 “A Day of Thanks”
So, what do these three things have in common: Food, Football, and Shopping? You guessed it! THANKSGIVING! Which just proves that we’ve come a LONG way from the first Thanksgiving . . . or even from the Thanksgivings of my childhood. Have we become so absorbed by the secular interpretation of Thanksgiving that we fail to focus on an attitude of gratitude?
